The Xiaomi Mi A3 is official and it’s not what we were hoping for. It is based on the Mi CC9e without upgrade. This means that it is a 6.1-inch OLED display with a resolution of 720 x 1560 pixels, which is well below the 1080p displays of the models Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite. Wait until you hear the price – it starts at 250 €. The Snapdragon 665 chipset, which powers this phone, is not a major upgrade from the previous year’s S660.
The main improvement of the Xiaomi Mi A3 is the camera. It has a 48 MPa main shooter on the back with a half-light aperture of 1.78 (there is no OIS). The next step is the 8MP ultra wide-angle camera (118 °) and finally the 2MP depth sensor.
If there is a Mi A3 Pro based on the high-end Mi CC9, we have not heard of it yet.
