Chinese technology giant Xiaomi announced that it is on the Global Fortune 500 Company list for the first time, nine years after being adopted by Lei Jun and his colleagues. The Beijing-based company, with sales of $ 26.44 billion and a net income of $ 2.04 billion, is the most recent entry on the list this year’s precedent. The company ranks seventh in the internet services and retail category.
As a reminder, Xiaomi was founded in April 2010 as a smartphone company before expanding its portfolio with other related products, including mobile accessories, audio devices and more. The company has since diversified into several other product categories, including televisions, home appliances, smart shoes, smart lighting and more.
