The Black Shark 2 is one of the best gaming phones you can buy, but the brand is now releasing a redesigned version called the Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro. This is a small update compared to its predecessor. The goal is to offer the latest Snapdragon 855+ and UFS 3.0 memory systems as well as a slightly refined design with better grip and two additional RGB light sources on the back.

The front panel features an identical 6.39-inch AMOLED display with FHD + resolution and stereo speakers. Black Shark claims to have shortened the touch time by 34.7 ms compared to 43.5 ms for Black Shark 2. This should result in a livelier gaming experience with a less visible delay. The Black Shark 2 UD fingerprint sensor is also available.

Under the hood, the device is equipped with the latest Snapdragon 855+ with 12 GB of RAM and 128/256 GB of memory, which now supports the faster UFS 3.0 standard.

To show just how powerful this combination is, the device has unlocked 500,610 points for Antutu. This is the highest score on the platform ever. Another addition is the updated version 3.0 Liquid Cooling, which is now supplied with a liquid-cooled plate and tube for optimal thermal management.

The camera department relies on a double-contactor with the main sensor with 48 MP F / 1.75 and a secondary camera with 12 MP F / 2.2. The selfie camera is 20 MP with a shutter of F / 2.0. The battery has a capacity of 4000 mAh and a fast-charging capacity of 27W. On the software side, the Black Shark 2 runs an almost standard version of Android 9 Pie.

The Black Shark 2 Pro will be available in China in black, silver, blue, orange and purple from 2 August. Pre-orders will start later today with the 12/128 GB base version for 2999 CNY (435 USD), while the 12/128 GB version costs 3,499 CNY (508 USD).
