After 40 days of launching of Galaxy A series in India, Samsung has announced the sale of 2 million units. and 30 days later, this sale figure more than doubled to 5 million units. Samsung India’s Marketing Director spoke to Reuters about $ 1 billion in sales.

Samsung expects to generate $ 4 billion in revenue in year 2019. Considering that Samsung’s sales in India reached $ 5.3 billion in fiscal year 2018 (ending in March), Samsung assumes that most of its sales will be generated by the new Galaxy A Series.

Samsung India claims that they have 77% in the Indian premium segment, which exceeds INR 30,000. However, Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi and Oppo are very competitive in the lower Budget segments. According to Counterpoint data, Samsung has around 23% of all smartphones in the country in the quarter ending in March.
