LG introduces the flagship product of LG G8 ThinQ in MWC 2019. The manufacturer announced today that the mobile phone will be equipped with a ToF front camera. The sensor was developed by the German technology company Infineon and although LG has no technical details about the sensor, he said he would “offer a new front camera capacity on a smartphone”. ,

The Infineon ToF sensor chip provides measurements by detecting infrared light reflected from the face. This means that it is more efficient in low light and reduces processor utilization, which reduces power consumption. ToF is used for additional secure face unlocking and virtual reality applications.

According to Andreas Urschitz, President of Infineon’s Power Management & Multimarket division, 3D cameras will be integrated into most smartphones over the next five years, and the German company will make a significant contribution to this.
