Honor introduced the Android Pie-based EMUI 9 update for the Honor 8X in China last week. The company announced the launch of this update for the smartphone in India on March 18th.
The EMUI 9 update adds features like Digital Scale, HiVision, Password Vault and GPU Turbo 2.0 to the 8X. In addition, it will also include indication-specific features such as the National National Calendar, national language support and further integration with Paytm.
Honor also explained that the startup of EMUI 9 would be phased in. It will therefore take at least one to two weeks for all 8X units in India to have access to the update.
The Honor 8X was launched last October in India with EMUI 8.2 based on Android Oreo. It is operated by Kirin 710 SoC with a RAM of up to 6 GB. The smartphone has a dual camera on the back and a battery of 3750 mA.
