Today, Google has released the first Android Q beta release that you can install if you have a pixel, an XL pixel, a Pixel 2, a Pixel 2 XL, a Pixel 3, or a Pixel 3 XL.
Continued support for the original Pixel and Pixel XL versions is a surprise as these devices have already exceeded their promised new features support window (which was two years after the release date at that point).
While it is unclear whether this means they will also receive the final version of Android Q scheduled for the third quarter of 2019 (ie, July through September), such a decision now seems likely – if not why not bother to post a beta build for them at all?
Android Q Beta 1 is also aimed primarily at developers who want to test their apps for the new version. However, you can also dive if you are not affected.
