Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Specification is powerful compared to last year’s Snapdragon 888. According to Qualcomm new CPU is 30% power efficient and 20% faster than Snapdragon 888.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU has 1+3+4 configuration, same as Snapdragon 888 but with new ARM’s V9 architecture. Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU Configuration is 1x 3.0GHz (Cortex-X2), 3x 2.5GHz (Cortex A710), 4x 1.8GHz (Cortex A510).
Qualcomm is claiming +20% performance and +30% power efficiency for the new Cortex-X2 core over X1 that is higher (16%) claimed by Samsung by moving 5nm to 4nm. Arm has stated that the Cortex-X2 could offer reduced power than the X1.
Other three Cortex – A710 also based on the new ARM V9 with an 80MHz bump over the last one because of node improvement.
The other four Power Efficient Cortex A510 are made as two complexes with shared L2 caches. Because of this layout, it is more power-efficient.
On top of this, it comes with 6 MiB L3 cache as part of the DSU, and a 4 MiB system cache with the memory controllers with no direst access like last year.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 comes with Adreno 730 GPU. According to Qualcomm the new re-architected Adreno 730 GPU is 25% more efficient and delivers 30% faster graphics rendering. Plus, it’s the first Snapdragon processor to showcase Unreal Engine 5. This also comes with Qualcomm Elite Gaming that unlocks some new features that allow the developer to make a balance between power efficiency and performance.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Comes with a new 7th Gen Qualcomm AI Engine that is 4x faster than its predecessor with a 2x faster tensor accelerator and 2x large shared memory.
On the DSP side, Qualcomm Spectra™ image signal processor can process 3.2 Gigapixels/sec for the cameras with an 18-bit ISP that captures 4000x more camera data than 14-bit predecessors, suitable for a single 200MP camera, 64MP burst capture, or 8K HDR video and mega low light photos. Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is the processor for Andriod flagship smartphone and it has all the features like new improved Cortex-X2 Core, New Adreno 730 GPU, New Ai, 5G modem, with Samsung 4nm process. That defiantly sounds good on paper but does not always fundamentally improve performance and power efficiency. But after testing in Benchmark we have noticed high temperatures, heavy power consumption, and significant throttling less than five minutes in.
Our testing shows +19% floating-point performance on the Cortex-X2 core, which is around 20% that Qualcomm quotes, but only +8% in integer, which is often the most quoted. We’re seeing power efficiency improvements for sure on the Cortex-X2 core, with an overall power efficiency improvement of 17%.
Overall Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is one of the best processors in 2022. But MediaTek announced a return to the high-end with a flagship processor of its own Mediatekl Dimensity 9000 flagship processor that is also based on a 4nm processor and packed with a powerful specs sheet.

4% more increase in multi-core score? Are you kidding me? Lol snapdragon 8 gen 1 can't even beat a14 bionic I have the Asus rog phone 5 with snapdragon 888 it's heating up too fast and its performance in gaming is not like they saying always apple is 2 years ahead of the rest
