Qualcomm just unveiled the new Snapdragon 678 in Sd 600 series. It is the successor of Snapdragon 675 that launched two years ago. Qualcomm Snapdragon 678 gets some minor updates over Snapdragon 675. There is not a big change in Qualcomm Snapdragon 678 specs sheet it is still based on the 11nm process. It has an octa-core CPU based on Qualcomm® Kryo™ 460 engine. Sd 678 CPU Configuration is 2x 2.2 GHz – Kryo 460 Gold (Cortex-A76) 6x 1.7 GHz – Kryo 460 Silver (Cortex-A55).
It has also Qualcomm® Hexagon™ 685 for better computing power and a smooth Experience. It has still the same Adreno 612 GPU, but Qualcomm Claims better performance compare to the old one. It has packed with and Snapdragon X12 LTE Modem for 4G LTE.
It comes with Qualcomm Spectra™ 250L ISP that supports a dual 16MP sensor unto 5X optical Zoom and able to capture images at 192MP.
It can capture 4K Ultra HD video ad slow motion at 1080p @ 120 FPS, 720p @ 240 FPS. Snapdragon 678 supports FHD+ at a 60Hz refresh rate. It has Qualcomm® Quick Charge™ 4+ technology.
